Each with a reversible nozzle above an ovoid body, flanked by ram’s heads issuing entrelac arms, joined by ribbon-tied foliage swags, on a waisted circular socle and square stepped base.

Measurement: 20 cm (hoch)

Literature: These ‘cassolettes’ are identical to a pair of ‘candle vases’ circa 1772, illustrated in N. Goodison, Matthew Boulton: Ormolu, London, 2002, p. 305, pl. 277, and correspond closely to a sketch in Boulton pattern book I (p.171).
