“A Pair of four pietra albarese and marble panels”

Florence, late 17th century

Three with Tuscan landscapes with buildings, one with a bookmatched pietra
paesina scene with a quartz vein inclusion. Plaques in this style were
frequently mounted in cabinets. Depicting traditional landscapes and scenes
reveal amusing and interesting views into Tuscan popular life which
certainly attracted the wealthy international visitors passing through the
Grand-Ducal city.

Measurement: 28cm long, 18cm high, 3 cm wide; framed
